We have all heard the cardinal rule of water intake: eight 8-ounce glasses per day.
So imagine my confusion when at the end of a spinning class the instructor added that we should all be drinking half of our body weight in ounces per day. So, for example, if you weigh 150 pounds then you should be drinking 75 ounces of water a day.
I know the importance of drinking enough water so I have decided that for the next week I’m going to challenge myself to make sure that I drink enough water every day by following the half of your body weight rule. I always drink water throughout the day but have never actually measured out my water to ensure I’m reaching a certain amount.
To make sure I’m reaching my goal amount every day I will be drinking from my S’well water bottle. Since I know how many ounces of water go into one bottle I can easily track how many times I need to finish it to reach my goal.
As a side note I love my S’well water bottle. If you’re in the market for a new one I highly suggest it! I can’t stand drinking luke-warm water and this water bottle does such a good job of keeping my water cold for hours and hours!
I’m hoping that I’ll be able to feel noticeably better on the inside AND outside after completing this challenge! This is a habit I want to keep up with forever and I hope that making it my main goal of this week will push me in that direction!
I hope that you guys join along with me! We could all use a little extra hydration 🙂
