Join My Challenge: Drink Enough Water

We have all heard the cardinal rule of water intake: eight 8-ounce glasses per day.

So imagine my confusion when at the end of a spinning class the instructor added that we should all be drinking half of our body weight in ounces per day.  So, for example, if you weigh 150 pounds then you should be drinking 75 ounces of water a day.

I know the importance of drinking enough water so I have decided that for the next week I'm going to challenge myself to make sure that I drink enough water every day by following the half of your body weight rule.  I always drink water throughout the day but have never actually measured out my water to ensure I'm reaching a certain amount.

To make sure I'm reaching my goal amount every day I will be drinking from my S'well water bottle.  Since I know how many ounces of water go into one bottle I can easily track how many times I need to finish it to reach my goal.

As a side note I love my S'well water bottle.  If you're in the market for a new one I highly suggest it!  I can't stand drinking luke-warm water and this water bottle does such a good job of keeping my water cold for hours and hours!

I'm hoping that I'll be able to feel noticeably better on the inside AND outside after completing this challenge!  This is a habit I want to keep up with forever and I hope that making it my main goal of this week will push me in that direction!

  1. I have heard about that bottle and have been considering buying it for some of my friends who are on the market for new bottles.

    At work, I have a 1L bottle of water and I try to drink 2 of those during work. Sometimes it is a challenge, but usually I can make it. My biggest problem is that I then need to constantly go to the bathroom!

  4. Great post! I think the only thing wrong with drinking water all the time is the need to pee all the time. Ugh, I'm trying to work and then I need to go again.

  5. Drinking enough water is really important! You'll definitely notice a difference if you start drinking more water! I always make sure I fill up and drink my 3 500ML BKR water bottles every day!

  6. I've been really good about drinking water and I forgot how important it is for the skin but even more so I feel actually better throughout the day!
